Siem Reap Provincial Prosecutor's Office Makes Arrest in Leng Channa Case

Siem Reap Province: The Siem Reap Provincial Prosecutor's Office made a significant announcement on the afternoon of March 12, 2024, revealing legal action against Duke Leng Channa, the General Director of BRILLIANT WORLD CO LTD, in connection with allegations of swindling individuals out of tens of millions of dollars through real estate investments and interest-bearing deposits.

Following a complaint from residents, police from the Siem Reap Provincial Police executed an arrest warrant issued by the Siem Reap Provincial Prosecutor's Office, apprehending Leng Channa, the female director general of Trilan City World Ltd., along with her accomplices. The suspects will face charges of fraud, breach of trust, and issuing cashless checks, and will be brought before the Siem Reap Provincial Prosecutor's Office for further legal proceedings.

Earlier, a statement from a group of spokespersons for the cabinet of PM Hun Manet clarified on February 21, 2024, that the Prime Minister had no involvement or endorsement of Brillian Company, headed by Duke Leng Channa. This clarification was issued in response to the dissemination of certain video clips implying PM support for the Brilliant Company, which caused confusion among the public.

The arrest of Leng Channa marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into financial irregularities, underscoring the authorities' commitment to combating fraudulent activities and protecting the interests of the public.
